Enhancing the built environment in Northamptonshire

Roos on Wye based specialist contractor Eurosurfacing (Western) has been working for MGWSP in Northamptonshire, carrying out decorative surface dressing to footways in their designated bespoke heritage villages.

MGWSP, a joint venture between May Gurney and WSP, is responsible for an annual highways services contract worth around £40m, covering 4000km of roads and footways across Northamptonshire.

“We are using a single dressing of 6mm Golden Gravel on top of Ayton Products Aquagrip 70P Polymer Modified Surface Dressing Binder,” explains Eurosurfacing Managing Director John Smith.

“We take time to thoroughly prepare each site prior to surface dressing, using specialist equipment to remove weeds, straight cut the edges of grassed areas and carefully mask any vulnerable adjacent kerbs and buildings. The Aquagrip binder gives us the enhanced adhesion properties we require as it is robust enough for use in a variety of environmental conditions.”

Alan Dinsdale, MGWSP Operations Director said: ‘We specified Golden Gravel as it gives an aesthetically pleasing appearance, which improves as it mellows, and is in keeping with the heritage status of some of the prettiest villages in the country.”

Jon Hood, Ayton Products Bitumen Sales Manager added: ‘We are pleased to support Eurosurfacing and MGWSP in delivering a network of quality schemes for the people of Northamptonshire.”
