Ayton Products supports a ‘wheelie good cause’

Traffic of a different kind raced around the streets of Norwich on 4 June as nearly 2,000 students set off in their specially designed wheelbarrows to have fun and raise money for a good cause.
Now in its fifth year, the Pimp My Barrow event saw University of East Anglia students taking part in the fancy dress event which saw them stopping off at local pubs in the vicinity of the campus to raise cash for the Big C Cancer Appeal.
Ayton Products, the product manufacturing and supply business of May Gurney, was approached by one of the teams and asked to provide a wheelbarrow for the occasion.
Tony Hipperson, Ayton Products General Manager, said: “I was delighted to assist with this worthy cause, which has raised £10,000 for the charity; and all due to the hard work and effort of the students, who made a cracking job of dressing up their barrows and themselves for the occasion.”
Rachel Cullen, a first year Masters Student, added: “We were very grateful to Ayton Products and May Gurney for helping us to help the charity; the only stipulation Tony made was that the May Gurney sticker had to be visible at all times!”
