Alun Griffiths inspects the consignment before loading, bound for South East Asia
Bitumen order shipped to Asia
Ayton Products recently supplied oxidised bitumen for a contract in South East Asia. The specialist order, which was manufactured at Ayton’s factory at Wymondham, was supplied to Pipeshield International Limited, and will be used in their granular mastic pipeline process.
Pipeshield is one of the world's leading providers of specialised subsea pipeline protection systems to oil and gas majors and offshore contractors and their products support, protect and stabilise all kinds of subsea installations, world-wide.
Steve Howlett, Managing Director of Pipeshield commented: “We rely on the expertise of Ayton Products in providing oxidized bitumen for use in our Field Joint Mastic range, which can be supplied in both Granular and Slab form. Most offshore lay barges now prefer to use the Granular product because it is easier to handle and melts down more rapidly in offshore mastic kettles.”
The consignment left Wymondham on 6th May bound for South East Asia and Jon Hood, Ayton Products Sales Manager, said: “We are pleased to be one of the core suppliers of raw materials to Pipeshield, and to support them in providing bespoke solutions for their clients worldwide.”
