Research and development

Ayton Products' Technical Department provides technical support to the company's manufacturing activities in the areas of quality control and product and process development.

From its purpose built facilities at Wymondham, the Technical Department is able to carry out a wide range of physical and chemical analyses to relevant BS, EN, ISO, ASTM, AOCS and IP standard methods; as well as analytical instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GLC, FT-IR, UV-VIS, DSR, Laser Diffraction and a variety of static and dynamic surface and interfacial tension determinations.

Additionally, the Department's long established relationships with Shell Bitumen UK and the University of East Anglia provide access to the world class facilities of the Shell / Nottingham University Centre for Pavement Engineering, Shell Global Solutions (Thornton Research Centre) and the University of East Anglia School of Chemical Sciences.

The Technical Department resources can be made available to clients for in-house and collaborative development work as well as for third-party contract analysis.
