About Ayton
Ayton Products supplies a diverse range of quality British and European Standard products for numerous applications for the highway maintenance, construction, building and roofing markets.
The company's market leading range of specialist surfacing materials supports the widest range of surface dressing binders and specialist bitumen products in the UK.
Ayton Products was established on its present site in Wymondham in 1929, trading under the name Ayton Asphalte Company Ltd.
In 1958 Ayton Asphalte was acquired by May Gurney to provide raw materials and expertise for the road surfacing side of its operation.
The plan at that time (successfully executed since) was to expand Ayton into manufacturing and marketing bitumen products for industrial use - and to develop resin/aggregate paving systems, emulsion and other industrial products.
Ayton today
Today Ayton is the product-manufacturing sector of May Gurney and supplies an extensive range of bituminous products specifically designed for the road maintenance and construction sectors.
This is complemented by two trade centres selling a wide range of roofing felts, bituminous paints and sealants, tools, clothing and sundry items, and a specialist surfacing products division, which delivers architecturally pleasing landscape solutions to an ever widening client base.
The company’s state of the art manufacturing plant can operate round the clock and products are often manufactured to clients’ own specifications or formulations.

Ayton Products is an acknowledged leader in the research, development and manufacture of bituminous and specialist-surfacing products – and finding bespoke solutions for clients. The company’s in-house laboratory is continually innovating and refining products and provides a full technical back up service.
