Wearing it Pink – Ayton Style
Ayton Products, the product manufacturing business of the May Gurney Group, really got into the swing of things in support of the recent Breast Cancer Campaign ‘Wear it Pink’ day.
The team fully embraced the campaign by wearing various items of pink clothing to work, but none more so than Laboratory Technician Sylwester Lukasik, who donned his finest pink attire and went round the site at Wymondham with his collecting bucket, raising a credible £130 in the process.
The May Gurney Foundation matched the collection from their Employee Match Funding, which is available to all employees taking part in an event that is raising money for charity or good causes, and so a much needed donation of £260 went to this valuable cause.
Sylwester said: “This is such a worthy charity which needs every penny they can get in their campaign to find a cure for breast cancer. We all know of somebody who has been affected and I was happy to raise awareness even if it was a bit scary approaching work colleagues dressed as I was.”
Ann Macisaac, Senior Administrator at Ayton Products, who coordinated the fund raising effort, commented: “Sylwester was a very brave boy dressing as he did, but as he made such an effort, you could not refuse to add to his collecting bucket.”
